Si intitola The snowplough, è del 1963 e rientra tra i 100 spot pubblicitari più belli di sempre.
Nella versione inglese l’ultima frase recita: “Have you ever wondered how the man who drives the snowplough drives to the snowplough. This one drives a Volkswagen. So you can stop wondering!”
Lo trovo fantastico nella sua semplicità.
Un giornalista lo ha commentato così:
“…… Actually it’s wildly romantic – the idea of the snowplough man, a sort of lighthouse-keeper American pioneer, a brave loner driving across deserted snowy wastes, connects back to all sorts of 19th-century archetypes, and forwards to the Sixties greening of America. (…). It’s elaborately simple, beautifully composed and cleverly shot – you never see the snowplough man’s face, only his boots. The voice-over has that smart wry tone of a whole generation of turtle-neck wearing Greenwich Village novelists”. Independent, The (London), Mar 21, 2005 by Peter York
